How to be on Twitter

This blog post has been created to support a tweetup that the medDigital team are conducting for the PIPA Conference workshop.

As opportunities for face to face customer interaction continue to dwindle for pharma companies, Twitter offers a relatively quick and easy contact point. Pharma were early adopters of Twitter, and continue to use it as a means to share anything from clinical trial information to corporate news.

Inpharm.com's Digital Pharma blog offers a comprehensive listing of pharma activities on Twitter. However, as last summer’s ruling by the PMCPA against Bayer demonstrates, caution must be exercised. The PMCPA's Digital Communications document provides some useful guidance on the how pharma can use Twitter appropriately.
